Product Selection Questions

You should choose the push button switch according to the application function, mounting hole size, contact configuration, operation type, voltage, current, protection level, material, and installation environment. For example, start/stop control usually uses momentary or maintained push buttons, safety control uses emergency stop switches, mode selection uses selector switches, and authorized operation uses key switches.

The mounting hole size should match the panel cutout of your equipment. Common industrial mounting sizes include 12mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm, 25mm and 30mm. Before ordering, check the panel thickness, available installation space, wiring clearance, and whether the button series matches your existing control panel design.

The voltage and current rating should be selected according to the actual circuit load. For control circuits, common voltages include 12V, 24V, 110V, 220V and 380V. If the button controls a PLC input, signal circuit, relay coil, contactor coil, or LED indicator, the required current can be different. Always confirm that the switch rating is higher than the real working load.

A momentary push button returns automatically after you release it, so it is often used for start, reset, jog, horn, or signal input control. A latching push button stays in the changed position after being pressed and needs to be pressed again to reset, so it is often used for power control, mode switching, or on/off control applications.

If you need visual feedback for power status, machine status, alarm status, operation confirmation, or signal indication, an illuminated push button is recommended. If the switch is only used for a simple control signal and no visual indication is needed, a non-illuminated push button is usually sufficient.

The IP rating should be selected according to the operating environment. For indoor control cabinets, a basic protection level may be enough. For outdoor equipment, wet locations, cleaning equipment, marine equipment, food machinery, or dusty environments, a higher IP rating such as IP65, IP67 or IP68 may be required. Please confirm the specific product series protection level before ordering.

Common contact configurations include 1NO, 1NC, 1NO1NC, 2NO, 2NC and 2NO2NC. NO means normally open, and NC means normally closed. Start buttons often use NO contacts, stop buttons often use NC contacts, and emergency stop switches usually use NC or multiple NC contacts depending on the safety circuit design.

The best terminal type depends on your wiring method, production efficiency, and maintenance needs. Screw terminals are convenient for control cabinets and field wiring. Solder terminals are often used in compact devices. Pin terminals and quick-connect terminals are suitable for fast assembly. Special terminals such as 4.8 x 0.8mm terminals or JST terminals may also be available depending on the product and project requirements.

Plastic buttons are economical and suitable for many standard control panels. Metal buttons provide stronger mechanical protection and a more durable appearance. Stainless steel is suitable for harsh, wet, or corrosion-sensitive environments, while nickel-plated brass and aluminum options may be used in different industrial or commercial equipment designs.

Mechanical life refers to how many times the actuator can operate without electrical load, while electrical life refers to the switching life under rated electrical load. If the switch is used very frequently or controls a higher load, you should pay more attention to electrical life and load rating. For high-frequency operation, choose a product series with longer life and more suitable contact design.

A maintained selector switch stays in the selected position after rotation, so it is suitable for mode selection, manual/automatic selection, or on/off control. A spring return selector switch automatically returns to the original position after release, so it is often used for temporary commands, jog control, reset functions, or short-time operation signals.

A selector switch can usually be operated directly by hand, while a key switch requires a key to operate. Key switches are suitable for applications where authorization, security, or restricted operation is required, such as machine access control, mode lockout, maintenance permission, or electrical cabinet operation control.

Certification, Compliance and Technical Questions

HBAN can provide products with certifications and compliance documents such as CE, UL, TUV, RoHS, REACH and UKCA. Different product series may have different certification coverage, so the exact certificate should be confirmed according to the specific model before purchase.

HBAN has UL certification standards including UL 61058-1 and UL 60947-5-1. These standards may apply to different product series and different product structures. If your project requires UL-certified products, please contact HBAN sales or technical support to confirm whether the exact model is covered.

You should choose according to the application category, product function, installation environment, electrical rating, and end-equipment requirements. If your customer or market requires a specific UL standard, provide the product model, circuit requirement, and target market to HBAN so that the correct certified product can be recommended.

Most HBAN push button switch products are suitable for working environments around -25℃ to +65℃. They are not recommended for extremely high-temperature environments, such as 110℃. If your equipment will be used in special temperature conditions, please confirm the model and application environment with HBAN before ordering.

Laser marking is generally more durable than ordinary surface printing because it is processed directly on the button surface. However, the final durability depends on the material, marking depth, operating frequency, cleaning method, and environmental wear. For high-frequency touch areas or harsh environments, please confirm the marking method and sample effect before mass production.

HBAN push button switch products should not be disassembled casually by users. Removing the head, base, or internal structure without guidance may damage the product and make it difficult to restore. If you need to change the button head, actuator type, LED color, contact block, or other components, please confirm with HBAN official sales or technical support first.

HBAN has more than 20 years of production and sales experience in industrial switch products. Many commonly required terminal types in the market can be produced or customized, including certain quick terminals, pin terminals, solder terminals, screw terminals, and connector-type terminals. The exact feasibility should be confirmed according to the product series and order requirement.

Because some HBAN products may be upgraded or improved over time, customers are recommended to contact HBAN by email to request the latest 3D model files. Providing the exact product model, mounting size, actuator type, and project requirement will help HBAN send the correct and updated 3D file.
